The digital revolution has changed the world of photography. Digital photography offers an excellent way to learn creative control of both color and black and white images. It also allows us the ability to manipulate our images instantly on our computers.
Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements are very powerful programs that anyone can use to improve their digital pictures and create new and exciting works of art. This class is recommended to be taken either in conjunction with, or after, Digital 1.
This four-week class will teach you the basics of Photoshop. We will cover the available brushes and tools used for basic retouching and enhancement. We will also cover a variety of color enhancement techniques as well as teaching you how to create stunning black and whites from our color images. We will also learn the value of selection tools and touch on using layers.
Outside of the actual manipulation of photos, an important part of digital photography is workflow. In this class you will be introduced to a variety of techniques to help you organize and protect your photos. We will also help you learn how make the best use of your time while you edit your photos.
Using your own images, on your own computer, you will be amazed how quickly you will learn this powerful program. The darkroom currently does not have a digital lab set up. However, we are excited to announce that the construction for our lab will begin in April 2008. By May, we hope to be able to offer those students the ability to learn this amazing program on systems provided by the darkroom. Watch this site for more news on that exciting project. Class Limit: 10 people
