Macro photography is the art of taking a very close-up photograph. To be successful in this style of photography you need to develop an eye for detail. As you learn to do this you will begin to witness the miraculous in the common. It is a journey into the world around us in a whole new way.
Macro defines a range from 10 inches to .01 inch. Modern cameras have made this world very accessible, but there are still many tricks and techniques. Consider that the slightest vibration is like an earthquake and depth-of-field is so small that even a worm must be photographed in profile at f/16. This one-day intensive workshop will introduce you to the basic tools and strategy of this art form. You will discuss and observe demonstrations in field lighting, diffusion, flash, and depth-of-field. Much of the session will be hands-on personalized instruction. Both film and digital SLRs are welcome.
This class runs one full day. Four weeks of darkroom time are included in the class fee! Class Limit: 10 people
